Official Site - The Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship is a business competition that recognises and rewards the best small and medium-sized businesses across Africa with prizes of $350,000.

History - 2007

More than 450 businesses from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda were rigorously evaluated and eleven finalists selected to appear before the panel of expert judges. The six winners were recognised during the Gala Award Ceremony hosted by His Excellency President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, in Kigali on November 30, 2007.

The Grand Prize winner of USD 100,000 was AAA Growers, an agricultural company from Kenya. Five other prizes of USD 50,000 each were awarded to:

  • Good African Coffee
  • Enterprise Urwibutso
  • KenCall
  • Tele-10
  • Virtual City
